Meghan had always believed in happy endings. Perhaps it was something she learned from the fairy tales read-those stories of princes and princesses, of love and redemption, of promises made and kept. She had clung to them like lifelines, imagining that one day, she too would be rescued from the loneliness that had become her constant companion.
