"So-" James started, focusing his eyes on Regulus, "I've heard some things about you and also saw you once, but I can't really say that I know who you are." He formed a friendly smile on his lips, trying to break the ice.
Regulus, however, remained as unimpressed as always, his expression guarded. "What about it? You don't know me, and I don't know you. That's quite easy to understand. I really don't know why you felt the need to highlight that."
James's smile faltered slightly, but he maintained his composure. "What I meant to say is," he continued, keeping eye contact with Regulus, "I would like to get to know you better. Would you mind sharing something about yourself?"
Regulus knew what James meant. Of course, he did. He just didn't want to get to know James Potter.

What if James was in love with Regulus as well as Lily? After Sirius left for Hogwart he left his younger brother, Regulus Black behind to deal with their parent alone. Now, Sirius has made new friends and left his family in the past. Regulus knew things were different the moment Sirius didn't come home for the holidays in his first year. Now, Regulus is at Hogwarts, although his and his Gryffindor brother's relationship is completely different. Eventually, Regulus starts getting dragged along to the Marauderers hangouts and develops feelings for his brother's best friend. (Bare with me, the first 10 or so chapters are probably crap but it gets better) Tw: Please be aware of the fact that there may be intended mention of child abuse at certain points throughout the fic but I never directly write it. "Regulus Black is never going to catch a break. He wants to bury his face in his hands and groan into them. The only reason he restrains himself from doing so is that the other figure skaters have started glancing over at him-probably wondering why the hell he's talking to a hockey player. Regulus would very much like to know too. Oblivious to everything else, James raises an eyebrow towards Regulus. 'I guess we'll be seeing each other around, then?' Seriously, how has James still not gotten the goddamn hint?" ~ ~ ~ When Sirius moves out, Regulus Black thinks that maybe James Potter will finally be out of his life too. Good. Competition season is coming up, and it'll be his first year at the junior level. As the upcoming skating star of the Black family, Regulus can't afford to lose-and the absolute last thing he needs is a hockey player to mess everything up for him. All he needs is for James to stay out of his way, and he'll be good as gold. James doesn't stay out of his way. I made this ages ago and honestly, I don't like it. There are some people who do like it and that's alright but for me, I don't like it. You can read it if you want. Their sixth year did not go as planned, James came out as bi, his friends weren't happy, but James wouldn't forgive them so he made them do something, after being reunited, they decided to prank the Slytherin house and ended up in a prank war between some other Slytherins. Regulus somehow gets involved and after pranking the Marauders, Sirius was pissed, he comes up with an idea that nobody, not even James could've predicted! One prank, a wild year, falling in love with the enemy.
