After his father was taken to a mental hospital, Dan Howell snapped. Badly. He got himself expelled from his school, and his only option for education was Kai University, a boarding school for trouble makers. The teachers are like prison guards, the dorms like cells. Possibly the only good thing at the school was the notorious trouble maker, Phil Lester. Everyone respected him, but didn't interact with him in fear of the punishments they'd get.

But Dan finds himself pulled into one of Phil's most daring pranks when he's in the wrong place at the wrong time, and finds himself doing the unthinkable: befriending Phil Lester.
