Note: This is a retelling of my unfinished story "Exiled". I was updating it and writing a draft for it, and then I felt that I was going at too fast of a pace. I felt that conflicts were being introduced only to be solved the next chapter. Basically, this is just an attempt at being a little bit better of a writer.
Within the kingdom of Uvroya, a small orc village known as Krognak lies in the dense forest just outside the human village of Gaeton. Rarely was anyone ever allowed to enter Krognak, and even if they were, they were met with glares of anger that sent chills through the body of any visitor. One day, the orc warrior Jakor is preparing to guard the border of the village and upon making his way to the border, a human is spotted within the brush, just mere inches from crossing the border...

I quickly put my head down. The truth was going to come out and I wasn't ready for it. I knew what was going to happen. I was so terrified, I just wanted to go home. My throat went dry. I could feel him stop in front of me. I could feel his power coming off of him. I could feel the air change. Kat was loosing her mind, she was so happy. I was so scared. Once I looked up everything was going to change. I wasn't ready, my god why does this have to happen to me. I felt his warm fingertips on the bottom of my chin. It sent shivers into my spine. I wanted more, I wanted more of his touch. It's like my body needed it. I wanted to throw my hand around him. He lifted my chin up slowly, and everything paused. I saw his beautiful honey eyes. "Mate" Kat said in my head. It was like I was staring into his soul. We were so close I could hear him breathing. His steady breathing was the best music I could hear. He nearly stopped my breath, it felt like I was floating. His honey eyes were staring into mine he looked mesmerized. He took his hand off my chin and softly grabbed my hand. He pulled it up to his mouth and said "I believe you're my Queen." He said in a deep enriching voice. Then he kissed my hand with his soft lips.Complete

Excerpt only: I quickly run in their direction as my claws elongate into fierce points. I watch as a man in all black strikes down and kills one of the innocent packless men before turning to another. I make a flying leap to attack and am suddenly hit with a strong, overwhelming scent of vanilla and citrus. "Mate!" My wolf yells in my head. My conviction evaporates and confusion hits me, but I don't have time to think about what this means. Before I even have the chance to realize what is happening, the unknown man who had been my target spins to face me. We are mere centimeters apart and pain explodes through my stomach. I look down to find a black hilt sticking out of me and crimson spreading out around it. The man drops his hand from the dagger and I look up to meet his eyes. There are so many emotions swirling through his gorgeous sapphire eyes, confusion, shock, sadness, fear, anger. I don't get the chance to contemplate this as I stumble backwards, my consciousness slipping away from me. And then everything goes black. ---------- Scarlet Denton is a fiery young she-wolf with no family and no pack. She was just trying to have a real life. A life where there were no summons, no war, no death... just... peace.
