"All over the country, the casualties are rising. Last Tuesday, a science laboratory blew up, and a gold-like dust spread around the fields just outside the capital. Scientists revealed the gold dust was a new element they had recently discovered called 'Ichor', but when testing it, it had caused measurements and equipment to go wild. The deadly dust, as it is now called, is responsible for the death of a few hundred people all over the country."
"Yesterday emergency services discovered a teenage boy living in the countryside who made rain appear. We talked to the parents."
"Oh well you know, it was just a regular Sunday for me and Bonnie, we were sitting inside, I think we was reading the newspaper or sumthin', and Bonnie look out the window and she says 'Ben it's rainin' gold, and our boy is out there with it!' So you know, we took 'im inside because I got no idea what that gold gon' do to my boy. Next day we woke up and our boy went 'Papa, look at me I can make it rain' and he did sum weird little dance and we had rain inside the house! Let me tell you Bonnie wahn't happy."
"The boy was taken by the emergency services to the capital for his own safety, the parents told us, as they feared he would make it start raining in a locked room and would be unable to leave, possibly drowning himself. The mother has been administered to the closest hospital and is currently in critical condition."
"If you see any teenager who exhibits unusual behaviour, please contact the emergency services immediately, for the safety of your children."
Persephoneia "Percy" Cordelia Jackson is considered a prime example of why it is that the worst of storms are nearly always named after girls.
Practically the living embodiment of the beautiful but deadly seas, she's not someone any sane person wants to mess with.
As of late however it would seeme monsters of Greek Mythology and the gods of Olympus *cough, Zeus, cough* didn't get the memo. As when Zeus' favorite plaything is stolen his prime suspect is, you guessed it, Percy.
Now to soothe the King of Primadonas' fragile masculinity she and her friends have ten days to retrieve and return his stolen property. Should in theory be easy enough for the only demigod daughter of Poseidon who's cunning and intelligence rivals the brightest of Athena's children and coupled with a bit of divine intervention (as all heroes receive), right?
Unfortunately such theories never quite want to apply to Percy - not like she's ever let that stop her before so why start now when she's got a god or two to flip the proverbial middle finger to?
