McKenna wasn't so lucky.  10 years later, 2075, the year she turned 17, she was chosen. Jensen, her best friend, the guy she's had a crush on since 5th grade is  also chosen and becomes more important to her than anyone else. She struggles to live  her new life and still struggles with the life she once had. 

Soon tension rises and citizens rebel against the government. Unfortunately McKenna and Jensen get caught up in all the rage and soon join this rebellion.
