The year is 2300 and the world is advanced, average sci fi mumble, youve heard it all, the great new technology, but a blessing isnt always a blessing, sometimes a curse. The world is divided, and all because of augmentations and drugs. Addiction and poison and sweet new upgrades has the world divided in several factions on how to use these, though all are the same in the core, to achieve a high. Its one of the only ways to get peace in this world.

Theyve all seperated themselves, besides Trip City, which is as the name suggests, a drug filled city where there is constant clashes between rivals and addicts, though not everyone gets the temporary break.

The Noir clan, a group of people who are immune to the effects of the drugs and augmentations, brought to extinction by the others who were naturally stronger, theres only one left, a small boy named Y/N, or Genesis, depends how well you know him. But he has to survive in this world somehow.

Garry, his handler, introduces Xeno to the industrial version of the black box, allowing Xeno's pineal gland access to synthetic sensory perception with the turn of a dial, along with the Noumenol patch, a skin absorbed drug that stabilizes his vital signs so that he doesn't suffer a cardiac arrest. Xeno's initial mission is to test the black box on the field, under Garry's watchful eye, and to locate Trianne, an ex co-worker, ex model, ex pole dancer for the Shoki Pao, gone missing and showing signs of spontaneous human combustion, an emerging side effect of Black Magic, and a public safety hazard. All he has to do is bring Trianne back to Intellegella for treatment. It's that simple . . . according to Garry.

They gradually begin to learn more about one another while they wait for a bad storm to pass and experience a rather nerve-wracking event in the process. Later in the week, Ace, the cyborg hacker (and one hell of a chess player) receives an email from an old friend and learns that a virus is being spread rapidly throughout the nation that's heavily reliant on technology. The government and almost everything that's based on technology is being corrupted and there's only one facility that can put a stop to it before everything goes up in flames. The group is called upon to assist in the process since they each have their own unique abilities to put to use. No one knows if they'll be able to get rid of the virus in time or if they'll die trying. Who knew a few pieces of paper could do so much to 6 random strangers.

Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. The story revolves around this organization called the Intergalactic Brigade Force(IBF) which is kind of like a special police made up of people with abilities(powers). The ability persons(AP's) are ranked by letter, Squad A being the best, and Z the worst. The beginning of the story focuses on Squad Y and their mission to stop an arms dealer called Red Coyote. The focus shifts away from them and shows the perspective of a plethora of characters such as a robot cowboy, a crazy mind controller, some weird prison inmates, and later shifts to a school of AP children. I think some may find it boring and maybe complicated but I hope you enjoy if you choose to read.
