Unspoken verdict

"We always desire what is forbidden to us. This is probably some cruel curse ingrained in human existence itself, genetically passed down from the first human to this very day. Or perhaps Eve condemned us all to eternal temptation the moment she decided to pick the apple from the Tree of Eden, if we choose to believe in the biblical story of creation. However, this phenomenon is not exclusive to humans, who are far more intelligent than other living beings; it also exists in animals-dogs, cats, monkeys, and perhaps even rats always yearn for what is out of reach. So, before you finally judge me, look at me with disdain, and perhaps even throw leftovers at me as in the Middle Ages, I would like you to keep in mind this interesting psychological fact and the awareness that all my actions might have truly been beyond my free will and ability to choose.
