Runaway

10-year-old Maddie faces much in her life. Only her German Shepard, Birke (Pronounced Burk-a), and her calico Maine Coon cat, Petal, seem to understand her. Maddie's parents are divorced, her mother hates her, she's gone through trauma no child should have to go through, and more. So when Petal is murdered, Maddie decides to run away. With tons of books, as much food and water she could bring, and Birke, Maddie sets off. Will she survive, despite being in the deep unknown?
