Raven paced the dimly lit room, her mind racing with the revelation she had just heard. Mattheo watched her, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and frustration.
"Raven, you need to calm down," he said quietly, stepping closer to her.
"Calm down?" she snapped, turning to face him. "How can I calm down when I just found out she killed my parents? And you knew, didn't you?"
Mattheo looked away, his silence confirming her worst fears. "I didn't want to hurt you," he muttered.
"Hurt me?" Raven's voice broke. "This whole time, I've been living a lie. How can I trust you now?"
Mattheo reached out to touch her arm, but she pulled away. "Raven, please. I love you. We can get through this together."
Raven shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "Love? This isn't love, Mattheo. Its a nightmare."
