Love in the Evening

Samuel had tried to protest telling his parents that it was unfair to force him to marry someone he had never met, that he had the right to choose his own partner. But his parents had simply brushed off his complaints, saying that they knew what was best for him and that he couldn't be trusted to make good decisions on his own.
Samuel had felt frustrated and helpless, knowing that he had no choice in the matter. He had tried to convince himself that maybe the girl his parents had chosen for him would be someone he liked and could learn to love, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of dread and despair that had settled in his heart.
