Bear with me on this. Originally planned as a short story, inspired by "Far Distant Land" by Blackbriar, the tale took on a life of it's own and developed into an alternative origin story about Simon 'Ghost' Riley. The places mentioned in this story are real. I've tried to be as historically accurate as possible, but I'm no expert, so please excuse me if I'm off in my descriptions.
