Poetry
This is a collection of some of the poems I've written in a period of my life of tremendous transformation. I feel completely drawn, completely possessed by poetry, not as a form of escapism, but as a tool for self-discovery. As I crafted each of these poems, I was working on reaching an inner truth, a truth about myself and about reality. Sometimes the poem arose naturally, like a flower blossoming in dark soil, but sometimes it was like a bullet imbedded in flesh that I needed to carefully remove. I believe that within us all is a light, a spark, a candle that illuminates the wasteland, not to help us runaway, but to face the darkness and suffering. Poetry has always been that for me, and I hope that I can be a vessel to pass that torch along. Through my poetry, I intend to preserve the human spirit.

MELANCHOLY | MAY GARNER | AVAILABLE ON AMAZON! ⋆˚𖤓˖° This melancholy drips from my fingertips so slowly you begin to forget I ever existed. All of me - the parts of flesh you never quite learned to love slips quietly down the drain. I am waiting for the day your fingers unscrew the pipes, dig through the mess, scrape your heart against rust, just to find me again, so we can do it all over. Here, in these pages, I find myself. In ink pressed against my flesh, I whisper the sadness, the heartache, the decay meant for all the unspoken. ⋆˚𖤓˖° A Poetry Collection by May Garner. Original poems regarding real life experiences.
