Rumor has it the forest is haunted by the shade of Scheria's lost princess and that's why no one ever goes there - that and the fact that it's teeming with beasts conjured by the angry gods themselves. But Vesta has no time to worry about such nonsense, not if it means losing access to the precious herbs and plants that Rhiannon needs in order to make medicine.
Forced by the blight to retreat further into the heart of the forest, she must avoid those deadly creatures if she wants to gather all the necessary ingredients to cure the people dying of the plague in Scheria's island.
It could be just another day for Vesta, who doesn't have time to consider people's nonsense about it being haunted. But when she's forced to hide behind a waterfall to evade one of those untamed creatures, she finds a golden necklace that begins to draw people's attention to her.
Soon she'll realize the past doesn't stay buried, it catches up to you. And maybe it's time she stops running from it.

A maiden must marry into nobility to uphold honour in her family's name. However, when her soon-to-be husband is burned alive by a fiery creature, she realizes there's more to life than just suitors and balls. ~·~·~ As a woman, Alyria Willows is expected to cast aside her pursuit of independence to fulfil her duties as an acquiescent housewife; all for the sake of one's honour not even her own. However, the veil isn't as pellucid as Alyria thinks when a devastating upheaval leaves her grasping for answers. It's only after surviving a terrifying experience that she discovers more than blood flows through her veins. But that'll be the least of her concerns when a creature neither man nor dragon stalks her from the shadows. His gaze pierces like iron. His power radiates like lava. But even a man of his strength cannot hinder the threat that seeks to destroy. A ballet of starlight foretells a restless war. Lies will be unearthed, truths will be muddled, and victories will come at a steep price. But not everything is as it seems. After all, how can she trust a man of fire and ore when he may be the embodiment of evil itself? ________________ WARNING: crude language, depictions of violence and gore, mature content. The Forest of Lights

16 parts Complete Mature

Long ago, in a kingdom ruled by silence, two princesses dared to speak. Thana and Khalida were sisters bound by blood but divided by destiny. Together they formed the Guerrillas, a secret band of warrior women fighting for justice in a land that denied them power. But when one sister dares to enter the forbidden heart of their realm-the Forest of Lights, a place of both refuge and fear-a single prophecy brings secrets to light and fractures the bond they believed was unbreakable. In a world where light can deceive and darkness can guide, only the truth within their shattered hearts can save what remains. ~~ The story is finally complete! I'd appreciate your reads so much. ❤ The second book of the series is a work in progress (but may never be finished due to my co-writer disappearing) Note: no, this book has nothing to do with The Bringer of Light, the titles are accidentally similar. I'll try not to put "light" in my next book title lol TRIGGER WARNING: suicide, violence, mental health issues
