Only Human: A Miraculous LadyBug Fanfiction
Chat Noir's one desire is to protect and assist his lady, even when it means putting his own life in jeopardy. Marinette's deepest fears come true when his ride or die sentiment leaves him cold at her feet. Ashamed and guilt-ridden, she turns her miraculous in to Master Fu and asks him to find someone else for the job, but something far more sinister is brewing, and with no LadyBug to come to the rescue, who will Paris, and more importantly, Chat Noir, turn to to save them in their time of need? Written over the course of only a few days, this is a short story that I don't plan on lengthening into a full length tale. I also don't plan on editing unless requested repeatedly. This is a first and only draft, and one of the only works the perfectionist in me has actually let me finish. disclaimer: All rights to characters belong to their respective owners. Y'all buckle up because I'm rewriting the entire series- (its basically the show if it had good writing. expect heavy deviations from the canon plot and references because why not) Darkness has always been around. It's just taken the right people to find and harness it, and the right people to fight for the light, the hidden embers that prove that the world isn't as broken as everyone assumes it is. When one man decides to hone the darkness to complete a masterplan years in the making, a mysterious guardian finds himself choosing two teenagers through an ancient ritual. Although wary at first, he decides to take the leap: they may just be the next generation needed to keep the work going. Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste may have never initially asked for the roles. But eventually, they learn they have to accept it. Because now, Ladybug and Cat Noir have stepped into a dangerous game, one that could determine the fate of reality as they knew it.
