Delores Friar, also known as Dotty, is from a little town called Gravity Falls, Oregon. After getting rejected from the audition that would give her a name in Hollywood, she attends Backupsmore University begrudgingly.

It isn't too long after Dotty's been there that she meets an oddball by the name of Stanford Pines, a nerdy genius who gets her into all kinds of shenanigans after he convinces her to go into the engineering program. 

As they grow closer, Ford starts talking about strange things happening in Dotty's hometown. When the pair settle down in Gravity Falls, an unknown darkness threatens everything they'd built together to come crashing down... and it's only a matter of time before a certain ancient demon gets in the way.
