Set in the Pacific Northwest 180 years after The Fall and The Rip, The Runner follows Adrian Blake, a 23-year-old messenger living in the Portland City State in the early 2330s, is hired by the local resistance group to deliver a call-to-arms out into The Frontier to unite the various factions which call these reclaimed wildlands home against the authoritarian regime of The Towers. However trouble brews when Adrian discovers the true motives of the Resistance and quickly finds himself in the crossfire of a conflict much more complicated than he once thought and where the line between good and evil are very much blurred.

Shadows of Elysium: The Laughing King by DalisJamesBunch
33 parts Complete Mature
Once upon a time there was a world, much like our own. This world is gone. The machinations and wars of man saw to every manner of apocalypse. What was left is a world as nightmarish as it is fantastical. Gunslingers and swordsmen ply the same trade. Science, chemistry and magic are indistinguishable from one another. The monsters prey on all, but the true villains will always be human. A handful of corrupted overlords run the walls before the wastelands. They promise power in the form of a potent and mysterious drug called Elysium. This is the way of the world and it has done nothing to diminish the number of mutants and parasites that crowd the wastelands. Until now. They are both overcome by a new threat from the walls that cage them. Only one wall was ever built to protect the non-cannibalistic mutants of the Grey Coast and the inhabitants of Valoria from the true Wastelands; it has fallen. The remaining warriors built a great defense to fill the gap in the frontline wall. This outpost was overrun and the warriors that defended it became too few. They did the best they could and many died in the battles to keep the True Wastelands at bay. Survivers became little more than wanderers, sell swords and try hard defenders of the inhabited wastes. This is the tale of one such wanderer and his mission to unite the Wastelands against the abominations created from Elysium. This is the tale of The Wandering King and his sadistic counterpart.

Cowboys and dinosaurs. Where the western world had saurian denizens as normal as six-shooters. The 19th century comes alive with an adventure of unlikely friendships and the battle against dinosaur cruelty and colonial skirmishes. Follow the trio: A shrewd businessman whose love comes unrequited, a devoted dino caretaker who refuses to tame her spirit, and a relentless hunter too reckless for his own good. Amidst the backdrop of daring shootouts, classic high-stakes train heists, and dinosaur hunting, they race against time to stop all-out war. ═══════ 𝙿𝚁𝙴𝚅𝙸𝙴𝚆 Randall's scowl deepened. "It seems we differ in our understanding of what constitutes cruelty to God's creatures. I have no desire to subjugate nature through force when harmony can be cultivated through ethical practices. Our goal is to empower mankind through merit, not shows of dominance." Shaw's smile tightened slightly at the rebuke. "You paint me as some brutal slavedriver. Where does your morality stand with the hadrosaurs that pull our carriages? The Centrosaurus' ploughing your fields without pay or vacation, helpless before any whip or spur? Even the natives have already made use of Pachies (Pachycephalosaurus) to safeguard their land. A few scars mean little to creatures that dedicate their lives to man's service. These dinosaurs depend utterly on humans for survival. We could shoot them all and make this a man's world when we wanted. Oh, that's right! We did." ═══════ 𝙰𝙲𝙷𝙸𝙴𝚅𝙴𝙼𝙴𝙽𝚃𝚂 x9🏆 Contests awarded x1⭐ FEATURED on @ReshapeIt (formerly @SpeculativeFiction) ═══════ 𝙷𝙸𝙶𝙷𝙴𝚂𝚃 𝚁𝙰𝙽𝙺𝚂 #1 | 19th Century (2025) #1 | 1880 (2023-2024) #1 | Animal Cruelty (2023-2025) #1 | English Literature (2023-2025) #1 | Speculative Fiction (2023) ═══════ Total Word Count: 88,700 [17 Jun 2023 - 5 Oct 2024]

In the days of the Old West, an unexpected event changes the world forever. When the dead rise to feed on the living, humankind congregate within swollen communities and only the very brave, or the very stupid, wander into the vast landscape now populated by creatures of nightmare. When Henry Pierce, intrepid reporter from back East, arrives in Prescott, Arizona Territory, he chances upon one of those brave souls and senses an unfolding story that could make his name. Following the bounty hunter, known only as 'Annie', out into the wilds, he finds himself caught in a deadly race to find three murderous men, led by the villainous Arthur Shipton. The hunt takes Henry and Annie into the very heart of the terrors that grip the New World, from the horrors of the shambling, glutinous Drifters, to a mountain under the thrall of the monstrous Skinchangers and on, to the fortress of Shipton and the blood-drinking creatures there. Can Henry survive to see his story published? And who is Pitchfork Annie? A ghost of a long-dead woman, a relentless predator of cutthroats and thieves, or an angel of righteous vengeance? Only Annie knows for certain. Cover created in Canva, using an AI generated picture.
