Seeing the stars up above him in a world where Up Above Him didn't exist meant he was in for a lifetime of doctors, medicine, and keeping-quiet-or-else. But what if he could show everybody what they were missing? The stars were Up there. He knew they were. Maybe he could make everyone else know it, too.

After a terrible car crash resulting in the death of their parents, 17 year olds Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent back to Gravity Falls to live with their Grunkles. Mabel now hates Dipper, and blames him for the crash, since they were only out getting him his anxiety medication. The Grunkles don't fully agree with Mabels logic, but are still distant with Dipper, for they think he's a freak because of his anxiety. And so in the one place he felt he could truly call home, Dipper was now alone and hated by the "family" that once loved him. One night, Dipper overhears the family talking about how useless he is and, doing the only thing he knows, he runs.
