Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Sebastian Sallow is suddenly put on trial for the murder of the former Auror, Solomon Sallow. 

He withdraws from everyone he knew at Hogwarts during the trial. Refusing to return any letters or stay in contact with anyone, including withdrawing from the new 5th year he had befriended, Valeria Lowell. 

10 years later, Valeria Lowell takes a break from her work as an Unspeakable to serve as the Herbology professor at Hogwarts, eager to be back. Only to find that the cunning Slytherin she resented for neglecting their friendship, had accepted the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor role.
