Book 1 of The System Trilogy

Ember Quinn is living an ordinary life in battery city. Deprived of her personality and emotions since childhood, she is the perfect example of a perfect citizen. However, after 15 years, she quits her emotion suppressant pills, and sees the "amazing" city for what it really is. A place of lies and secrets with penalties of death if you step out of line. Ember leaves her old self in the city, embracing her Killjoy alter ego as she joins the fight against the people who tore her apart. In her rise to becoming a feared and respected renegade, she makes allegiances, faces betrayals and says goodbye to many people along to way.

She, however, has differing desires: she wants to run away to the desert and meet the Fabulous Killjoys. One day, she does... and her life is saved by none other than Party Poison, Kobra Kid, Fun Ghoul, and Jet Star when her parents find her running away and they use force as a means of bringing her back home to live under their controlling and toxic environment where she hid so well the fact that she never took any of the pills. She changes her look to express herself as she's always wanted, and gets a new name and starts a new life as: Fireball Frenzy. When Fireball is adjusting to and living this new life, what happens? Will she make new friends she thought she'd never have? Will she, perhaps, find love for one of these Killjoys? Find out here.
