The Tale of Hades & Persephone
This is a rewrite of my previous fan fiction "Tales of Hades and Persephone" as well as some inspiration from the original myth (and perhaps other retellings I enjoy). Hades has been alone for far too long. One day he pays a visit to Zeus and requests to marry Persephone. The King of the Gods agrees and even recommends Hades kidnap Persephone, since it's unlikely Demeter will agree to the marriage. Persephone is a young Goddess of Earth curious about the world of the mortals. She's always helping her mother Demeter, but one day while watching the mortals she wanders off only to fun into a handsome stranger. After a brief conversation, Persephone finds herself swept away to the Underworld. Will Hades manage to get Persephone to fall in love with him? What will Demeter do when she discovers her daughter is missing and it's all Zeus' fault? Will the mortals be able to survive the wrath of the Gods?Complete
Hades and Persephone: A Fated Love
"You can have anything you want," He plucked the ripest for me from the tree. "Everything in my world is yours." With all of my mother's warnings, I had been afraid to eat from his table or drink his wine. These were binding things, and I would starve myself thin before Hades and I were tied together by communion. But in the light of this garden, it didn't seem as dangerous as it had in the dark. "I feel your wanting," he murmured and pressed half a pomegranate into my palm. Being in Hades's underworld for so long threatened to consume me. "Please. I shouldn't," I whispered. "Shouldn't," he repeated. "Why, Persephone? Because it is against the rule of the gods?" "No," I breathed. "If I cross this line, I don't know what will become of me." "Let me show you." ................................ 🥇#1 Retellings 🥇 #1 Kore 🏅#10 GreekComplete

Before modern science explained the changing seasons, there was another truth-one whispered in the shadows of ancient Greece, where gods walked among mortals and love could reshape the very nature of earth. Persephone, daughter of Demeter, and goddess of fertility is stolen by Hades himself. As crops wither and the world grows cold, desperate mortals seek answers while her mother's grief threatens to starve humanity. But in the depths of the Underworld, a different story unfolds-one of a king who rules the dead with surprising gentleness and a young goddess discovering her own power. Was this an abduction born of selfish desire, or something far more? Through the eyes of Persephone herself, witness the true account of how winter came to be, and finally learn the answer to the question that has haunted this myth for millennia: Did Persephone love Hades, or was she merely his captive? A historically-grounded retelling that reads like recovered ancient testimony, revealing the human truths behind the myth of Persephone and Hades. Isolation can be devastating. But love...can destroy everything around you. For Persephone, isolation is being kept under the suffocating gaze of her mother, treated like a child and forbidden from interaction with her own kind or the mortal people under her care. For Hades, isolation is a deadly gift, a silent and lifeless kingdom that he alone rules -- and that cuts him off from all that he would consider family. But when the winds of chance throw two love-starved souls together, it heralds the end of the universe as they know it.... #1 in HadesxPersephone (09/18/22) #2 in Persephone (09/27/22)Complete
Hades |Lesbian Version|
| A Wattpad Featured Story | Hades was well-cast to rule over the land of the dead. But what if Hades, the fearsome monarch of the Underworld was, in fact, a goddess? Everyone called her, 'Lord of the Dead' out of mockery since she prefers the company of women. She was considered an isolated and violent immortal, who loathed change and was easily given to a slow black rage like no others. But then everything changed when the dark goddess met the daughter of Demeter, Persephone. Now the tale of Hades and Persephone will be retold with a sprinkle of twists and turns. |LGBT content. Hades and Persephone
Persephone has already been kidnapped by Hades, her unwanted and unexpected suitor. Demeter has already cast a famine on all the humans in her grief. Hades struggles to win Persephone over...but perhaps Persephone has always been meant to be with him, and she wasn't an innocent as she was thought she was... Moderate explicit parts. *not finished* "Look, Persephone, you're a reasonable Goddess, more reasonable than most. You have to understand I was not born the Lord of the Underworld. The title was appointed to me because I was the unlucky one. My job is just as important as my brother's jobs. I wasn't selected because of my cruel ways but now because of the way people speak of me and fear me now I am the cruel one whether or not I like it. Do you honesty think it is fair that it should work that way? People take one look at me and assume I'm the devil." Persephone crouches back in her seat. I realize I am standing and seat myself, trying to calm myself. "Do you honestly think that being in charge of the dead and judging them makes me undeserving of love, of a wife? I'm doomed to be exiled down here. I don't even have the sun to keep me warm, Persephone. You're all the sun I have..." *This story is also not meant to be factually accurate, and is simply an interpretation of the story.Complete

in which you think you're trading away a third of your life for your dream job, but you end up getting a lot more ; hades jaemin, human reader, nades au, greek gods/goddesses au, paralegal reader, light persephone allegory, fluff, getting together ; x reader ; cw: cursing, mentions of death/dead people in the context of him being hades, probably more legal jargon than there should be but i tried to make it as easy to understand as possible i promise, it gets pretty existential at some points but never overtly angsty ; [11.9k] ; there will be a sequel, 'pomegranate red,' coming soon!Complete
