Sirens and Mermaids had been mortal enemies for decades for a simple reason- Like demons and angels, Mermaid's were supposed to be pure, posessing an angelic soul. On the opposite end, Sirens were the ones perceived as posessing an evil soul, pulling humans close so they can rob them of their life.
