In a girl scout camp not too far away-I'm not allowed to reveal its name- there's a cabin they don't use anymore. Not too long ago cabin number 8 had four campers staying in it, including a girl named Maria and her best friend, Alyssa.
Late one night, all the girls went to sleep, Maria in the top bunk and Alyssa in the bottom. At one point, Maria felt a small thump and woke up. Below her she heard,"five...six...seven...eight...nine...." it must be Alyssa counting sheep, Maria thought and went back to sleep.
A little while later, she woke up again and heard, "ninety-one...ninety-two...ninety-three...." Maria though, Alyssa must be having a hard time going to sleep! And she drifted off again.
Several hours later, Maria woke up again. Underneath, she heard, "Six hundred fifty-five...six hundred fifty-six...six hundred fifty-seven...." this has gone on far too long, Maria said to herself, and leaned over the side of the bed to say something-
She saw a hideously warty witch, sitting on the bunk blow her, holding Alyssa's severed head. The witch was plucking out the dead girl's hairs one at a time, and counting them:"Six hundred fifty-eight...six hundred fifty-nine...."
