Hermione Granger now works at the ministry processing Death Eaters left to waste in Azkaban. She advocates for them in court, as she has always kept her views that every life is worth something. When her last case, Draco Malfoy, an old classmate and bully, is sent to his death without a proper trial, she invokes an old law - the Gallows Law.
