November 6th, 1983:
The 10th Anniversary of the Disappearance of Marcelle Byers, and the very day that Will Byers goes missing. People in Hawkins believe that it's connected somehow, perhaps as a curse or a punishment. But the way that these two disappearances are connected isn't because of a curse or a punishment. Because when Marcelle went missing, she slipped into the world of the Upside Down--the very place Will has slipped into. Found by the now 16-year-old girl, they have an instant connection to each other, both promising the other to try their best to get out of there alive. But of course, the problems don't end when they hit the Topside.

Melanie Westwood was good at avoidance. Avoiding parties because she didn't know how to talk to people anymore. Avoiding Steve Harrington and his idiot friends.
