Second chances - an inspired Cassidy x Charlie story

Hi all! This story was inspired heavily by 'Gaymer', a brilliant book by AirQuotes2962. I absolutely recommend checking it out as I pulled many elements for this story from there. For a book that good, it has a criminally low read count. Let's fix that, shall we?

It's been years since the final defeat of William Afton and his legacy. Society has moved on, as have the poor souls involved. Things are in the past. As they should be.

16-year-old Charlotte Emily loves gaming. Minecraft, Sonic, Kingdom Hearts, she embraces them all. Except the souls games. Those are too hard. Charlie credits her historical poor luck with boys to her weird hobbies, but perhaps there's another reason, one that goes down further than she's dared to explore.

Cassidy Smith is a hardcore gamer, to the point where she and her friend Evan had beat Dark Souls, one of the hardest games of all time, doing a soul-link. Perhaps her willingness to face and overcome obstacles head on helped her come out as bisexual to her friends. But now she faces a new final boss, and it's a duo fight. Making sense of her feelings for Charlie, and convincing her dad that she was not a freak of nature.
