Skylar's Guide to Stop A Marriage

*This is NOT - I repeat, NOT - a 'falling in love with my step brother ' type of thing. It's more of family bonding and whatnot. The MC will have another love interest, thank you.*

I merely narrowed my eyes and went over by Jack, my eyes not leaving the Rivers for even a second. Jack clutched onto my wrist out of fear - ugh, just because I came over here doesn't mean he has to touch me. I'm not his protector.

"Okay, so what do you guys want?" I questioned, venom practically dripping from my voice.

"Listen," Lucas said, "you don't want your mom marrying our dad and we don't want our dad marrying your mom. We can at least agree to that, right?"

I pursed my lips, but didn't say anything.

"Well," Lucas continued, Blake and Tyler flanking on either side, as if they were some three member boy band or something, "what if they don't get married at all?"

"What are you suggesting?" I questioned suspiciously.

"Oh, for fuck's sake!" Blake said, ignoring Tyler's gasp for his language. "We are going to sabotage their relationship. You in, Blondie? And the other one?"

"But my mom...." I looked down at Jack. He stared up at me.

"Oh, don't think about how you could potentially ruin her life," Tyler said, sporting a 'friendly' grin. "List the pros. You won't have step brothers that hate your guts. And think of Jack. What would he gain by our parents marrying?"

"Suffering," Blake imputed helpfully.

"Skylar?" Jack questioned, hiding behind me, fearfully.

I sighed and gave them an answer.

"I'm in."
