In the year 2330 AD, 30 years after WWIII and the flooding of Earth(known as the "Great Flood" or "God's Fountain"), the Republic North America, the strongest nation on earth, and formerly the land of freedom and bravery, is now a fascist totalitarian military dictatorship, with no rights for its citizens, except for the richest citizens, military and government officials.  Jay "Hunter" Herman, a lower class citizen of society, is a 14 year old living in the Minnesota Territory. His father, a former soldier, died, while his mother and younger 10 year old brother are starving everyday, awaiting if they would live to see another day. Jay is forced to enter the Hunter's Tournament, a war game where teenagers from each territories of the Republic of North America are forced to fight in Armies until only one territory's Army is standing. That Army gets free admission into the North American Armed Forces, and are granted the special rank of Cadet Officer, who train to be officers to run the North American Armed Forces, and become part of the elite presidential body guard, the Republican Guards. Jay "Hunter" enters the multi-billion program run by the government and military, and must survive for the sake of his family's honor and survival.
