We're all told the classic 'monsters under your bed' or 'monsters in your closet' story, but what is it really? Stacked clothes casting eerie shadows? A bit of dark humour from parents to scare naughty kids? Or just the product of nasty dreams and even worse imaginations?
There were never monsters under my bed, that much I sure. But closet? There was something-or rather, someone-in my closet, while it was far more terrifying than any monster, a monster it was not.
