He is gluttonous and lazy in character, but also has his lovable aspects and can occasionally play a role in battles. Sha Wujing was once the Curtain-Lifting General in the Heavenly Court. Due to making mistakes, he was banished to the Flowing Sand River. He is honest and loyal, and bears hardships and works hard without complaint. He is responsible for logistical work such as carrying luggage.
