It's Will's first day of school. He's been homeschooled all of his life and today is the day he'd learn some shit and make friends. He never had friends before. Talking is hard to do, and he has made two best friends. Jane and Max. They are apart of the party, the most popular friend group in the whole school. Well that's what Will thinks; he's never been to a school before, how would he know? There is one boy that catches his eyes. Mike Wheeler. He's really rude, and would probably stab Will, but he's so fine.
Max, Jane, and Will finally start meeting up and getting along. It's only this one day they find Will's great-grandmothers cook book from...A long time ago. They cook a recipe, and they realize it isn't just a cook book.

Now that they are tied to a cookbook, it's hard to do other things. Like Will's love for Mike increases, but they have to keep this a secret. They can't start getting tested by scientists and other people like scientists. It's hard to keep secrets. They have to tell someone eventually. But they just know the right person to tell. And surprise, surprise , that person is an expert at what they're dealing with.
