[Y/N] had always struggled to put effort into anything, despite the immense potential simmering beneath the surface. Ever since that fateful day when everyone began to see him as a freak, a monster, he had resigned himself to apathy, allowing the world to shape him into someone who barely tried. Even the Great Change two years ago, when magic surged into the world and monsters emerged from the underground, failed to spark any motivation within him. But now, with his mother deciding it was time for him to live with his aunt, a flicker of hope ignited within him-maybe this move would bring about a change. Maybe, just maybe, something good would finally come his way.

Some things will be in reference to the other books in the trilogy or "From War to Science" by Emotistic-optimistic. If you haven't, read that too. It's really good (along with its sequel).
