Aisling is determined to leave her dark past behind as she moves in with her aunt who lives in Forks, Washington. Sitting at the same lunch table as two vampires is the last thing Aisling would have expected to happen on her first day at school in this small town. Or anywhere, really. Still, she can't help herself but grow increasingly involved in the supernatural happenings and especially the extraordinary family she meets there. Will she be able to heal from the pain of her past or will she let herself become bewitched by the strange world and her own feelings, loosing all sense of who she once was?

Lilith Amara Tepes Swan is not like other girls in Forks. Quiet, observant, and emotionally intuitive, she speaks through sign language and silence-but her presence speaks volumes. Adopted into the Swan family as a child, she's always felt like a shadow walking alongside Bella's world, never fully belonging in the sun. But in Forks, shadows thrive. When Lilith returns to her childhood home with Bella, strange visions resurface. Her emotions sharpen. And a hidden part of herself-one with ancient eyes and a voice like smoke-begins to stir. Then she meets Jasper Hale. Cold. Controlled. Dangerous. A vampire with a bloodstained past and a soul full of storms. He shouldn't be drawn to her. She shouldn't be able to calm him. But she does. And she's the one mind he can't read, the one thirst he can't explain... and the one girl who just might be hiding something darker than any Cullen ever expected.
