The Wall was created to house all non-magical beings in a safe space. Unfortunately for Auden, The Wall is the only safe place for non-magical beings to live and the Elders control everything in The Wall leaving no room for freedom. Even so, all Auden really has to do is marry General Relm Lancourt. There's only one problem, Auden and Relm have hated each other since day one, but it only grew worse when he involved himself in the disappearance of Auden's best friend Iriana. After a mysterious string of odd magical occurrences and discovering some truth about the disappearance of Iriana, she learns that Iriana might not be dead and the Elders might play a sinister role in all of it. Auden learns that though she might not be a magical being, she is part of an ancient race of Protectors, but what exactly is she protecting? And from whom? Oddly enough, the only person she can trust is the most unlikely of characters. The Dark Lord himself. Though the Dark Lord is unbelievably handsome, she doesn't know what version of him she'll get most days. Usually, he's a dream. Unfortunately though, there's those days where he falls a little off kilter. However, the Dark Lord's not exactly mad... not yet anyway. Even so, Auden has no choice, he's the only person Auden can trust thanks to the magical bond that tethers them together. They end up on a journey to find an ancient magical stone that could obliterate their worlds if it falls into the wrong hands. But, who is to say that the wrong hands aren't the Dark Lord's? Auden's left with one decision- find the stone no matter what. After that? It's up to Auden to decipher the visions from a dark Witch. The same visions that are telling her, there's more to the bond than a magical tether to save the world. Auden's bound to the Dark Lord in more ways than one. Both good and bad.
