Villainized is a collection of poems that delves into my personal hell and the struggles I've faced. I am not the hero of my narrative; a minor side-character? Perhaps. The villain? Maybe. The interpretation is yours to decide.

Mordant, once a brilliant scientist, was forged into a grotesque creature by his once partner, Edward. Now half-human, half-rat, all Mordant seeks is freedom, to be apart from his master's sick torment. Forced into this monstrous form, Mordant too goes on the journey to rekindle his relationship with his beloved wife, after being apart from her for nearly a year, hoping that love will be his salvation. But as he steps back into the world, in his new form, Mordant loses sight of love, and finds hate and hypocrisy. Humanity speaks of an equality utopia, while silently judging those who are truly different. As Mordant struggles with his newfound existence, his hatred only grows. Driven by pain, Mordant seeks one last act of vengeance, determined to make the world feel the weight of the hypocrisy it's built upon.
