I'm Beatrice but I like to be called Tris. I have 2 brothers, my twin Uriah, and my older brother Zeke. Our father died when we were about 8 and Zeke has been my father figure ever since even though he's only 2 years older. We were all born in Dauntless. Zeke's best friend Four transferred when Zeke chose to stay 2 years ago. Now it's mine and Uriah's turn to choose which faction to live in. For Uriah it should be easy he'll stay in dauntless. But for me unlike most people on my aptitude test I got three of the five factions. I am Divergent. My factions were Erudite Abnegation and Dauntless. I want to stay with my family and friends so I will most likely stay in Dauntless but it would be nice to start a whole new life. I don't know what to do...

Tris Pedrad has two brothers. Zeke, who is two years older and Uriah, her twin. Of course they both are the annoying, protective older brother type. Her mom, Hana, is a single parent. She loves all he children but always tells Tris to not listen to her brothers. She wants her daughter to be independent and brave. Her dad, Evan, died when she was little in a train accident. Ever since then Zeke always tries to be the father figure that they don't have anymore. Tris meets Four when she's Fourteen. Zeke brings him over after their introductions were over. Tris remembers him from the Choosing Ceremony. She instantly finds Four attractive, but he backs away from her because of her brothers. When Tris is finally going through initiation, Four is her instructor. It's hard for the both of them to keep the distance they had kept over the past two years.
