The rules are simple; in order to become Remy's client, a spirit must be referred by someone she's previously helped, said spirit must have met their end by the means of someone else, and lastly, they must not, ever, follow her out of the cemetery.

Luke was aware of her rules, the person he'd skipped ahead of had warned him of them. However, he didn't have the time to abide by the rules. His time was running out and he needed Remy's help. Whether she was willing to give it or not.
