I thought I knew our world better.
Such a thought quickly made her feel lied to, or at the very least deceived.

Peculiar America, a land without rules, plenty of violence, and gang leaders instead of ymbrynes. How had WWII been easier to navigate? Despite her giving nature Aurora can't help but feel pushed to her breaking point, then guilty for wanting a way out. She should be wanting to help shouldn't she? Instead she finds herself resenting the journey she finds herself on, and fears her life is finally spiraling out of control. And even Millard is at a loss at what to do to help.

Soon they both have the same horrible thought: What are the odds they will both survive such dangers twice? Mathematically speaking, not good.
