"Meet me, Kevin Lungheart, a reluctant member of a cannibalistic family. I've always said,

'I'm no cannibal, but I'll eat your heart out.'

But living among killers and cannibals has made me realize that even the most gruesome phrases can become mundane.

I wasn't adopted - that would imply a legal binding I was taken, kidnapped, abducted - call it what you will - and thrust into a world where dismembered body parts and screams are just another day.

"I'm not numb to the horrors, but I can't muster the excitement anymore.

I've tortured, yes, but never killed. Eaten human flesh? Never! I'm no saint, but the thought of devouring someone? No thanks. My family might see me as a disappointment, but I'm holding on to my humanity.

"However, my life is about to take a dark turn.

One of my brothers will eventually kidnap someone who smells... appetizing.
