Samuel "Sam" Paris is the older brother of Tom Paris he's 27 when he's stationed aboard Voyager as the temporary security officer before working in Engineering eventually working alongside B'Elanna Torres a former Maquis.

Sam's father pulled strings to get him stationed aboard so that he can keep an eye on his younger brother but what Sam doesn't expect is to fall for another former Maquis, T'Rina Greene, a Vulcan/Human hybrid who's the communication officer.
