After the war, Aegon II and Jaehaera find themselves trapped in a political marriage arranged by their family to reunite the fractured Targaryen dynasty. Both harbour deep resentment toward one another-Jaehaera for Aegon's role in the war that killed her parents and brother, and Aegon for being forced to marry his niece, a reminder of all he lost during the Dance. Jaehaera, haunted by her trauma and the ghosts of her past, while Aegon, bitter and angry, lashes out at everyone around him, including her. They share a cold, distant relationship as they struggle to adapt to their new roles as king and queen.
Yet, even in a world of fire and blood, love can bloom from the ashes of war.
