His rich, velvety voice sent thrills down my spine as he spoke my name. His intense, mesmerising gaze focused on mine, making it impossible to look away. As he drew me closer, his powerful arms wrapped around me, and I could feel the warmth of his breath against my skin. The aroma of his fragrance, a seductive blend of spice and musk, filled the air, making my heart race and my senses whirl. It's as if every aspect of him is intended to captivate and enchant me, keeping me completely entranced.
Release me," I muttered, feeling my cheeks heat up as I stubbornly avoided his gaze.
He let go like he had forgotten to do so.
For a few seconds, neither of us said anything. I fiddled with the hem of my sleeve, pretending I was calm, while secretly screaming inside. Why is he just standing there? Say something, idiot!
Finally, he broke the silence.
"So, why were you ignoring me?" he asked in low, almost accusing.
"Why would I ignore you?" I lied without flinching, acting like innocent.
But he wasn't buying it.
"I saw you," he said, stepping a little closer. "You ducked behind a door like you were dodging bullets. You thought I wouldn't notice?"
Ugh, busted.
I rolled my eyes. "Maybe I just didn't have any reason to confront you," I replied, crossing my arms as a shield against how close he was now.
He leaned in slightly, smirking,
"Oh, but you had plenty of reasons to hang around those guys at the swimming pool, huh?" he shot back.
"I was just... talking," I said defensively. "It's called being social. You should try it sometime instead of lurking around like a spy."
He chuckled, "Lurking? Please. I was just passing by. I was surprised when I saw you laughing with those guys like you were starring in some rom-com."
I refuse to back down.
"And what if I was?" I challenged.
He didn't flinch. Instead, he tilted his head with a mock-thoughtful expression.
"Then I guess I'd have to remind you... there are better options around " he said, tapping his chest casually.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT<3
"Im serious kitten. No one believes me."
I got angry. "So you told everyone that you stole her innocence, laughed at her, treated her like shit and now you're here pitying yourself."
He got angry. "Hails the story isn't true. I didn't do it."
A moment of silence. We were both staring at each other trying to read each other.
I finally spoke up. "Dont call me Hails."
He looked confused but then he smirked. "Ok kitten it is."
I grew angrier. "No not kitten. HAILEY. That is my name and that is what you will call me. I am not your pet to call me kitten and you dont deserve to call me Hails. GOT IT?!"
He was shocked by my outburst but then he smiled. Not a smirk but a real smile. "Ok Hailey, I just wanted to tell you thank you for...you know Friday."
"Yeah yeah no problem. "
I was about to walk away but then he turned his back and was cursing himself.
I had 2 choices: pretend to not see him and walk away or... well lets just say I did something reckless and stupid.
I walked up to him and hugged him from behind. He was definitely not expecting that and he was stiff.
A second later he loosened up and turned around and hugged me the proper way. He hugged me TIGHTLY. So tight I couldn't escape even if I wanted too. Honestly, I didn't want too.
I know this is weird and all but that hug was real and full of emotion if that makes any sense. I felt his sadness through it.
I decided to break the silence and whispered, "Why me?"
He whispered back, "Why you what?"
"Why did you decide to tell me?"
"Because you're the only girl who doesn't giggle every time I speak."
We both chuckled. We were still hugging mind you.
"Hailey, I'm sorry I just feel so... so..."
He couldn't find the right word but I knew it.
I finished for him. "Alone."
He moved just enough to look into my eyes. He was still holding me. His eyes were unreadable.
I got scared, thinking I said or did something wrong.
But then he smiled. "Yeah...alone."
