Elara Blackwood, born into an affluent family in New York City. Her parents, Thaddeus and Rowena Blackwood, were both successful in their respective fields. Despite their high social standing, the Blackwood's were known to be cold and distant, valuing power and status above all else. She was sent to Hogwarts for a better education by her parents.
Growing up, Elara was given the best of everything-tutors, magical toys, and access to rare magical texts. However, her parents' constant pressure to excel and their lack of emotional warmth made her develop a hardened exterior. She learned early on that showing vulnerability was a weakness. However, that would change as she met Hermione Granger.
