Albus Dumbledore hoped that by putting Harry Potter in the hands of his abusive relatives  that he come to Hogwarts as someone he could easily mold into a perfect pawn. However, that does not go as planned when at the age of 10 Harry's uncle beats him so badly that he sees through the dark lord's memories up until he kills his parents. Not long after the beating, Harry finds a chest left by his mother full of some books on her favorite subjects. Months pass and the Harry who comes to Hogwarts is not the one that Dumbledore was expecting.
