Chiara was exploring an abandoned garden to find answers to destroy the demons which have took over her continent a few years ago, after hearing whispers and rumours of a controller hiding in there. However, she only finds herself to be transported to a different realm when she awakes in the Kingdom of Terrasan. Aelin helps her return to where she had come from, but realises that Chiara was brought to her kingdom as a warning.
They soon uncover truths where a dangerous threat endangers both realms, and Aelin begins to find her old enemies awakening again, but this time stronger. Would their power falter and bow to the demons? And what did the demons truly want?
