Kirin, a talented but naïve priestess-in-training, has begun to experience nightmares, something that is supposed to be impossible for women born under a high house of orme. Fearing judgment from the clergy, she withdraws, only to be called to meet with the holy prophetess, who communicates directly with the long-departed goddess through her dreams. But Kirin soon discovers that secrets abound within the noble caste, and her religion is not entirely what it seems. Nightmares begin to spread, and the 900-year-old world theocracy is thrown into chaos as the long dead Dread God reemerges from the shadows to free his master and claim a royal bride.

Currently rewriting this whole thing from 3rd person POV to first person. I feel like this story would be so much better if it were written through the main character's eyes. Can you imagine the scariest dream you ever had is a reality you live in? Twin sisters born as a prophecy. One as bright as the sun itself, while the other as dark as the new moon. One suffers from the worst nightmares she can imagine. The other feels like she's the humanoid version of a living nightmare. Complete opposites, and yet they feel as if they're the same person. Velvet Noir tried the princess path, but an unexpected letter arrived in the middle of the first month at the royal university. An acceptance letter from a war college. Now the twins are separated. One still gets the nightmares while the other feels them. But what happens when the moon sister finds out there's a prophecy with the twins' names written all over it? Love, passion, hatred, betrayal. Velvet Noir goes through it all, but only one will unveil the truth.
