Inara Cabrera stumbles through life with only one objective in mind- survive. With a sick mother and resentful aunt, life seems to only have bad intentions for her. What little money they scrounge up from their family bakery can only do so much, and the weight of the world grows stronger on the Cabrera's with each passing day.

However, when Inara is sent to work at the castle, she finds a beacon to anchor her in the void of melancholy. The crown prince of the kingdom of Elyria, Prince Reagan. He and his little brother Prince Kallias bring life back into Inara, providing her with a life outside of the endless unknown that is her mother's condition.

Unfortunately, her hopes are challenged when a mysterious figure offers to supply her with the medicine needed to cure her mother- but of course, with a catch.

She must help them infiltrate the castle and assassinate the royal family.

Her life spirals, and in the whirlwind of events, Inara is forced to choose between love, her mother, and her life.
