Amidst the fading energy of the day, Shin Mirai, a young man plagued by self-doubt and a sense of failure, shuffled down a narrow alley. His lack of any special talents had earned him the self-deprecating title of "Humanity's Greatest Loser."

Shin's chance encounter with a group of thugs would soon set in motion a series of events that would challenge his perception of himself and the world around him. The divine judgment ceased, and the disappeared lands and people began to return, though altered by their experience.
