Let me recount another story to you, one that tells us to not let greed cause us to miss out on opportunities. Or if you want to look at it from a different perspective: "You shouldn't just keep waiting for something better to come along." But no matter what the message is, the goal remains the same... Luscious, green, delectable grass. Here is my retelling of this famous story, for it is my duty to pass these folk tales on to future generations, via Wattpad that is. Selected for Editor's Choice! Some secrets refuse to remain silent. Deep in Switzerland, the Intyamon valley was once home to many humans and strange beings. Years ago, in a wooden chalet rooted on the side of the valley, there lived a young girl who was desperately lonely. In the middle of Lessoc, a small village, there was a fountain. Humans had a charming legend they told about it, but fairy creatures whispered of dark deeds and bloodshed. On a farm nearby, there was a boy growing callous and cold from the harsh life he was given. A path in the valley forest led to a hill covering a vast hall under its rocky layers. A fairy king held his court in that hall and the great fairies danced and feasted throughout the nights. There was a horse with a battle-scarred coat and soul, who longed for redemption. And there was one last creature whose heart has withered away long ago. Lessoc Fountain would call them them together.

Kvínnú Áila (15), a strong-willed girl, is at 16 destined to become the tribe's next Trollkvínnú, after her mother. The king of the lands below the mountain however, wants her as the land's princess. Stolen at birth, Tiril Stone (17) was brought to Cod Tongue by her uncle. All her life she has breathed fog and had difficulties finding balance on land. Life on the small fishing island is brutal. Tiril is forced to take up the oars in order to pay for her family's debt. Out at sea, she realises she can attract fish by touching the water, but using her abilities also builds up a storm. She comes close to drowning but is saved by a draug, sailing in his half-boat.
