Ang alikabok ay naglalaro sa sinag ng araw na sumisilip sa bintana ng attic. Si Anya, isang dalagang mahilig sa kasaysayan, ay naglalakad sa maalikabok na silid, ang kanyang mga mata ay naghahanap ng mga kayamanan na itinago ng panahon. Sa isang sulok, nakita niya ang isang lumang aparador na gawa sa kahoy na narra. Nang buksan niya ito, nakita niya ang isang koleksyon ng mga lumang gamit: mga libro, mga larawan, at isang lumang salamin na nakabalot sa isang telang lino.
Nang tanggalin niya ang tela, nakita niya ang isang salamin na may makapal na frame na gawa sa ginto. Ang salamin ay may maliliit na gasgas at batik, ngunit may isang kakaibang kagandahan na nakakaakit sa kanya. Nang tingnan niya ang kanyang repleksyon, nakaramdam siya ng kakaibang pakiramdam: parang may isang bagay na nakatingin sa kanya mula sa kabilang panig ng salamin.

You still have a ikran but can't fly as you are supposed to learn the ways of the Metakyina but you still fly and go to the forest rarely, your sister is Tisreya and brothers with Aonung and have learned how to swim and have been informed by family that the Sully's are coming to where you are to get away from the sky people like you and your dad did years ago, you are excited but also scared to see everyone but also Neteyam as you wonder what he looks like now after all this time. (Neteyam is 18, Y/n is 17, Lo'ak is 16, Ilran is 16, Kiri is 17, Aonung is 18, Tuk is 7, Tisreya is 17) Through the right of a young warrior having to have a mate at a certain age through traditions, Neteyam is at the age where he is needing to find a mate.
